Winston’s Restaurant at Sullivan
University recently received the 2007 Achievement of Excellence Award
from the American Culinary Federation at its National Conference in
Orlando, Florida. This award was created to honor properties that
demonstrate excellence and passion for the culinary arts through their
unparallel food and beverage program.
Winston’s is the final destination
for culinary students before stepping out as professional chefs. Under
the culinary expertise of Executive Chef John Castro, Winston's has been
rated with 3 1/2 stars in Louisville fine dining and this award
recognizes Winston’s as the foremost culinary training restaurant on a
culinary campus in the country.

Executive Chef John Castro (left) and his brother Chef Joe Castro,
Monogram Training Specialist at General Electric, appeared on the Food
Network’s “Throwdown with Bobby Flay“ in a competition to create the
best Hot Brown. This open-faced turkey sandwich smothered in rich cheese
sauce and topped with crisp bacon originated in Louisville. “It’s great
to be part of the history of Louisville,” stated Chef John Castro. You
can be part of history, too.

featured Chef Castro’s version of the Hot Brown called the “Not Brown,”
which is available at Winston’s Restaurant on the campus of Sullivan
University. |
