Sullivan University Library and Learning Resource Center can continue to be a resource after you graduate

Did you know that the Sullivan University Library and Learning Resource Center can continue to be a resource after you graduate? There’s no need to give up your favorite books and journals as you transition into your career after college. As you continue to become acquainted with the library, you might even discover some new services that you never knew were available.

The Sullivan University library has a collection of approximately 30,000 books and 28,800 periodicals. The book collection includes the latest professional cookbooks to business titles to books on the most recent computer technologies. Ten books can be checked out at a time to alumni for a period of two weeks. Alumni who wish to check out materials are asked to leave a credit card number. Books are acquired throughout the school year, so there’s always something new to read. Both librarians and professors participate in book selection, but we always welcome suggestions.

The same periodicals that you used as a student can help you stay abreast of the latest developments in your career field after graduation. The library’s collection of periodicals includes scholarly journals, popular magazines, and a range of professional and trade magazines in students’ major subject areas. Periodicals cannot be checked out, but copies can be made for a student’s personal use at the copiers provided in the library.

Due to database vendors’ restrictions, alumni access to databases is not available off campus after graduation. Please check with your local public library for available resources.

Don’t forget our useful research guides, available at http://library.sullivan.edu/Research/researchguides.htm. These online guides provide a list of resources on subjects pertinent to our students and alumni, including books, periodicals, and websites. These, too, are available to both students and alumni.

Librarians are available to assist with research questions during the library’s operating hours. Alumni can make an appointment or work with librarians on a drop-in basis. You can also contact a librarian via email during the library’s operating hours at libsul@sullivan.edu.

With our 84 computers in the library, we can offer the alumni the use of word processing, and other programs.

The Sullivan University Library and Learning Resource Center provides the resources your need for your post university career. Stop by and see us sometime.
