Chef Tucker Receives the Distinguished Alumni Award and the Community Service Award

Chef Timothy Tucker from the Salvation Army's Center of Hope with President Glenn Sullivan. Chef Tucker is holding both the Distinguished Alumni Award and the Community Service Award. This was the first time in Sullivan's history that a graduate received both awards at the same time.

The Distinguished Alumnus Award is given twice each year (once during each graduation ceremony) to a graduate who has shown inordinate talent and distinction in their personal and professional lives. Many have not only served and represented their profession well, but many have given selflessly of themselves to the community and humanity. The Community Service Award is given to an individual (not necessarily a graduate) who has given time, talent, skill and energy to making our community a better place to live. Recipients have made significant impact in the lives of those less fortunate and they are recognized for giving of themselves to the betterment of the community and humanity.

Note: Chef Tucker has been featured on in the Sullivan Herald http://library.sullivan.edu/archives/herald/herald_spring2006_10.pdf as well as several Courier-Journal articles.
