Monitor the distribution of all grade reports and academic letters. Assist in the registration of students. Maintain all educational archives for the college.

 

Qualifications

 

The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and two years experience in an academic office. Candidate must be a self-starter, possess good communication skills and excellent computer skills, have proficiency in campus management software, and be very project and task oriented.

Overview

 

We are currently seeking a Director of Financial Planning to manage the Financial Aid Office and administer the Financial Aid Programs.  This position reports to the Executive Director and supervises a staff of approximately three employees. 

 

Job Skills/Requirements

 

  • Manages and coordinates the delivery of financial aid services for the division; recommends policies and procedures and coordinates logistics and work flow to ensure the effective delivery of services. Trains and supervises the financial aid office staff and student workers.

  • Reviews financial aid and scholarship applications; analyzes financial needs; determines financial aid package based on standardized procedures, annual allocations, and current regulations; requests documentation and additional information as needed; if applicable, grants fee deferrals and exceptions; is responsible for receipt and disbursement of checks.

  • Oversees computerized data system for school, including updating and verifying student information and assuring accuracy of data and records. Stays up to date on industry changes related to CommonLine, COD and Direct Loan processing, etc.

  • Processes federal loan funds; prepares applications based on needs test guidelines; serves as liaison with the Corporate office for disbursement and return of funds as required.

  • Counsels students and parents regarding the availability of aid, application procedures, college policies regarding recipients, Federal and State regulations, the process of needs analysis and necessary documentation.

  • Provides programs to assist veterans to receive their appropriate VA benefits (if applicable).

  • Serves as an authoritative resource to the campus as well as others, and represents the Financial Aid Office on committees and advisory groups.

  • Provides individual counseling and group orientation to students with regard to management of personal finances, development of overall strategies for budgeting during the academic year and other related matters.

  • Performs Title IV Calculations for the Campus

 

Qualifications

 

The successful candidate will have a minimum of an Associate degree, and a minimum of five years related work experience, and demonstrated knowledge of student financial aid compliance and reporting systems.  Candidate must possess excellent customer service, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.  Must be a dynamic team leader, possess a strong work ethic and be able to coordinate multiple responsibilities while meeting required deadlines.  Working knowledge in using a Financial Aid Management system for electronic processing is strongly desired.
