Student Learning Outcomes Information

Sullivan University vertically integrates the university’s continuous enterprise-wide assessment and planning efforts in order to improve overall university processes and results. Collaterally, the university’s strategic planning and budgetary processes are linked to the assessment process, which includes student learning objectives, general education achievement, and overall student satisfaction.

Each student program-level department identifies multiple discipline-specific student-learning outcomes, which are reviewed annually. Internal and external sources provide input for these professional skills-based outcomes that attempt to quantify requisite skills and/or knowledge necessary for students’ future success in their chosen fields. The evaluation process attempts to identify if students possess these outcomes upon graduation. The university evaluates performance targets/criteria for each measure of student learning at the associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degree levels. With the consultation of their respective faculty, student program-level area deans, directors, and/or department chairs, use the Continuous Improvement Cycle methodology as their model in analyzing results of the plan, changes designed to improve future assessment results, and implement planned changes.

As public information, anyone interested in more information about Sullivan University’s student learning outcome results and/or its student learning assessment programs may submit a request by filling out a request.
