DERBY ON THE LAWN
Two classes from Sullivan University’s Lexington campus hosted a fantastic event on Thursday, May 1 on the front lawn. The Catering Class and Event Management classes coordinated and executed “Derby on the Lawn” for the enjoyment of Sullivan students, faculty and staff. This gave the two classes hands-on experience, and gave the rest of the university a good time! Everyone enjoyed hot browns, Derby pie, nonalcoholic mint juleps and gluten-free cookies. The classes also set up fun activities, including a Derby hat competition, corn hole, and stick horse races. Students enjoyed the opportunity to spend the day on the lawn celebrating a Kentucky tradition, and the students who hosted the event received valuable experience to build their resumes. Great job, students!
