WINNER OF SULLIVAN’S SPIRIT WEEK COMPETITION ANNOUNCED

The Student Activities Committee (SAC) at Sullivan University’s Louisville campus would like to thank all the students, staff, faculty and clubs that worked together to make Spirit Week 2014 a fun, positive week!

After an intense week of thunderous pep rallies and exciting spirit stick competitions, the Glee Club has proven victorious in the 2014 Spirit Week competition. Throughout the week, the Culinary Team, dubbed the Jamaican Jerks, put up a strong fight and maintained the lead for the first two days. However, the hallway décor and Field Day placed the Glee Club ahead in the rankings. Victories in both the Field Day Competition and the online voting survey put the Glee Club ahead of the Culinary Team at the conclusion of Spirit Week.

However, the Culinary Team’s strong performance throughout the week earned them a second place finish above the Tech Team, who came in third, and the Library Luminaries, who finished in fourth place.

In addition to the fun and games, The Penny War and Pie in the Face Competition were held to raise money. Although many faculty and staff came close to winning, the winner of The Penny War was David Campbell, an employee with the IT department! SAC would like to thank everyone who donated – a total of $92.50 was raised through these competitions! The money will be used to make care packages for Wayside Christian Mission.

The week saw countless Sullivan students, faculty and staff enthusiastically dress up and show their Sullivan pride. Regardless of how the scores turned out, each team had strong performances throughout the week. SAC can’t wait to do it again next year – but better!
