Who can register for an online course?
 
  • You must be currently enrolled as a Sullivan University student. If you are not currently enrolled, you need to contact the Admissions Department at 1-866-755-7887.
  • You can NOT enroll in an online class if you have not completed the prerequisite course(s) required for that course (see Evening/Weekend Schedule, the website, or email the Registrar’s office at registrar@sullivan.edu for information on prerequisites).
  • You can NOT repeat a class in the online format if you have previously earned a grade of D, F or WF in the same course.

When do I register?

  • Online-only majors will register beginning Monday, August 4, 2008; ending at 5:00 pm Thursday, September 25, 2008.
  • All other majors will register beginning August 18, 2008; ending at 5pm Thursday. September 2, 2008.

How will I know if I'm registered?

  • You will receive a confirmation email that includes your username, password and log-in information.
  • If you do not receive a confirmation email within one week, do not submit another registration request.

Please contact the Online Registrar at online@sullivan.edu about the status of your registration.

What if I want to withdraw from the course?

  • Click on the withdrawal form link at http://www.sullivan.edu and follow the instructions for online classes. You MUST go to the website in order to withdraw from your course(s).  The Online Registrar will send a confirmation of withdrawal to the student and the instructor.
  • The refund policy for online courses is not the same as the regular class policy. See your original application for details.  Tuition charges are based on the date you request to be withdrawn, so please submit your request as soon as possible.  Students who do not formally withdraw from a course may receive a grade of “F” for the class.

When do I start my Online Course?

  • You will have access to your online classes at 8:00 am on the first day of the quarter (Monday, Sept. 22, 2008).
  • You will have access to your online account 10 days prior to the start of the quarter. AGAIN, you will not be able to login until 10 days before the beginning of the quarter, no matter when you received your confirmation.
  • It is recommended that you try to access your online account before the beginning of the quarter. If you have any trouble logging into the system, it can be resolved before you miss any class time.

Online Student Policies:

  • You MUST access EACH of your online classes by 12:00 midnight, Sept. 28, 2008, one week after the start of class.  If you do not access your course, you will be dropped from the roster.
  • You MUST maintain consistent contact with the instructor (via email, telephone, or by accessing the course) for attendance purposes. If you fail to communicate with the instructor for more than two weeks, you risk being dropped from the course by the instructor. (The resulting grade is F and you will be charged for the class.)
  • Students must use their student email account. If you do not know how to access your Sullivan email account, contact the IT Helpdesk at 1-866-755-7807.

How do I register for an Online Course?

  • Go to http://www.sullivan.edu, click “Current Students”; from there, click “Online Classes” and then “Register for Online Classes” to view the offerings.
  • You should click the title of the course to read the course description and check for prerequisites.
  • Then click “Registration Form” and fill out the form completely.
  • Submit the form and print your Registration Receipt. (Please note this is NOT your confirmation. You are NOT officially in the class until you receive a confirmation email from the Online Registrar.)

Is there anything else I should know

  • You MUST access EACH of your classes before 12:00 midnight Sunday of the first week of class September 28, 2008. If you do not access your class, you will automatically be dropped from your course. (Logging into your online class before the quarter begins will not keep you from being dropped. You must login to each of your online classes AFTER the start of classes).
  • You MUST maintain weekly contact with the instructor (via email, telephone, or by accessing your course) for attendance purposes. (If a student has not been in contact with the instructor for more than two weeks, the student will be dropped from the course by their instructor, and will be charged for the class).
  • Students must use their Sullivan email account. If you do not know how to use your Sullivan email account, contact the IT Helpdesk at 1-866-755-7807.
