In making a determination to accept a transfer student, the Committee will consider:

  • The applicant’s prior academic performance
  • The applicant’s professional demeanor as determined from the admission interview process
  • The available space in the professional year for which the applicant seeks admission

Candidate Selection

The College of Pharmacy Admission committee will review the applications. The Committee will include the Assistant Dean, the Chairs of the respective Departments of the College, the admission coordinator, four faculty members (two from each department), and two clinical faculty from the practice settings. The Admission committee will include participants from the clinical faculty at large for the face-to-face interview of the applicants. The review of applications will begin after the deadline for submission of applications. Based on the new standards for accreditation, the College of Pharmacy will not participate in PharmCAS for the Entering Class of July 2008.

The Admission committee will consider both the cumulative grade point average (GPA), the GPA earned from the pre-pharmacy courses, and the PCAT score and will make recommendations to the Dean of the College as to the selected applicants who should receive an invitation for a campus interview. The specific criteria for the face-to-face interview will be developed.
