International Applicants

If an applicant has completed coursework at a foreign college or university, or a post secondary Canadian institution that does not use English as its primary language of instruction and documentation, the student must submit an official, detailed course-by-course evaluation of his/her coursework. The student may obtain this evaluation from one of the following services:

International applicants must also complete the following coursework at a regionally accredited college of university in the United States or from a recognized post secondary Canadian institution or other institution that uses English as its primary language of instruction and documentation:

  •  three semester hours (4-5 quarter hours) of economics
  •  three semester hours (4-5 quarter hours) of public speaking or speech

International applicants may also be required to complete coursework in the sciences if the age of the credits exceeds six years.

International applicants are also required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL iBT) with the following minimum scores to be considered for the Doctor of Pharmacy program:

  • Reading 21
  • Speaking 26
  • Listening 18
  • Writing 24

These scores are the same as the minimum language scores required by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy for foreign pharmacy graduates to quality for FPGEC certification as of Sept 25, 2005.

International applicants must also provide the following:

  • Copy of current Passport (include all pages including existing visas or entry stamps)
  • Copy of current I-20 if entering from another U.S. College or University
  • Proof of legal residence in the United States and the expiry date of any such documents
  • Temporary residents holding a student visa:
    • Verification that sufficient funds are on deposit in a US financial institution to cover all expenses while attending Sullivan University College of Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy program
    • Statement of financial responsibility for account holder if other than the applicant
    • Award letters for any grants or scholarships
