Chef George Allen Akmon

Chef Allen Akmon has been with Sullivan University for 15 years and serves as the department chair for the Culinary Arts programs at both Sullivan’s Louisville and Lexington campuses. He has taught all culinary disciplines within the National Center for Hospitality Studies. He is a passionate specialist in International Cuisines. He works at changing the way people eat through his efforts in educating people through The Harriet B. Porter Cancer Foundation and the Louisville Mayor’s Healthy Hometown Movement. Additionally, he works annually with Churchill Downs and the Taste of The Derby to highlight many Sullivan students who assist celebrity chefs.
