This program will provide you with the clinical training necessary to perform a variety of medical responsibilities, including preparing patients, performing CPR and first aid, obtaining and analyzing specimen, performing EKG procedures and sterilizing instruments. Upon graduation, you will be prepared to take the Certified Medical Assistant (C.M.A.) examination.

Jill Ferrari is the Medical Science department chair and the director of the Medical Assisting program.

What type of person would this program appeal to?
This program is perfect for you if you have a natural compassion for patients, and are interested in developing administrative and clinical skills to assist providers in routine medical care. Our graduates have also been successful in moving up into medical office manager positions.

Once you graduate, you’ll be qualified to assist in laboratories, physician’s offices, clinics and some hospitals, based upon area.

 

What is the most important or unique aspect about this program?
Our program has been accredited with CAAHEP since 1999, which makes you eligible to take the national exam. This will give you the credentials of CMA (AAMA). Additionally, on our last annual report, we had a 74% pass rate.
