After graduation from college, Laura Wathen returned to the University of Kentucky as the Infant/Toddler program coordinator / lead teacher for UK’s Early Childhood Laboratory (UKECL), where she remained for six years. She also served as developmental interventionist for children with disabilities in her care and taught numerous Early Childhood courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. She went on to serve as director of the UKECL for one and a half years before joining the Kentucky Department of Education as a preschool program consultant for five years prior to accepting her current position as associate dean of Early Childhood Education with Sullivan University in July 2012. She has presented trainings at state and national conferences as a level 5 Credentialed Trainer.
