Career Services Polices for Employers

By acting in accordance with these policies and guidelines, individuals and organizations can help the Sullivan University Career Services department maintain a professional, fair and successful recruiting environment for all parties involved.

Sullivan Allied Health Information

Employer Posting Policy

As a private institution, Sullivan University reserves the right to disallow postings that do not support the interests of the University.

The following opportunities will not be allowed on Sullivan University job boards or other posting platforms:

  1. In-home services at private residences such as culinary/baking roles, tutoring, child care, cleaning, moving, personal care, or maintenance.
  2. Home-based businesses without a commercial location.
  3. Multi-level marketing/sales; positions requiring an investment or charging a fee; or other “start-your-own business” opportunities.
  4. Opportunities outside of the United States of America (company/organization must be headquartered in the United States to be able to post opportunities).
  5. Internships conducted virtually or that appear to be self-directed.
  6. Part-time student positions or internships paid on a commission-only basis
  7. Positions which require the student or graduate to participate in non-paid training or require the purchase of a sales kit or other materials as a condition of employment.
  8. Positions that pay for work in cash or other informal work/pay arrangements.

Fraudulent Positions and Questionable Hiring Practices

Due to the increased presence of fraudulent positions, phishing scams, and questionable employment opportunities, Sullivan University staff reviews every posting prior to uploading to the student job board.  Although we cannot guarantee the integrity of every position, we take every effort to protect students, and the reputation of our employers, from fraudulent activity.

Information Required for All Positions to be Posted:

  • Provide a physical, commercial address
  • Valid website URL
  • Specific contact individual named, including email address and phone number.  Email addresses that do not match the website domain and that cannot be verified as belonging to the organization will not be approved
  • Postings must include a clear and concise description of the available position

Employer On-Site Recruiting Policy

* As a private institution, Sullivan University reserves the right to disallow on-site recruiting opportunities that do not support the interests of the University.

Sullivan University encourages employers to recruit students and/or graduates of the University through tabling at any or all Sullivan University campuses/locations/extensions, Learning Centers or other off-campus University-sponsored recruiting events.  Employers wishing to recruit on-site must be recruiting for full-time, part-time or externship /internship opportunities that meet the following criteria.
