Since 1962, we have created an environment where students from different places and different stages of life can come together, exchange ideas, and learn and that is what makes Sullivan unique.
The mission of the SU COPHS Department of Pharmacy Practice is to elevate pharmacy practice through fostering student learning and growth in the clinical sciences, researching and publishing advancements in teaching and clinical practice, advocacy through professional pharmacy organizations, and mentorship to encourage practice advancement.
The pharmaceutical sciences are a group of interdisciplinary areas of study involved with the design, action, delivery, disposition, and use of drugs. These areas of expertise draw on many areas of basic and applied science such as chemistry, biology, mathematics, physics, and engineering. Students learn the common language of pharmaceutical sciences, helping them to better evaluate clinical literature and ensuring a thorough foundation of practical pharmacy.
The mission of the SU COPHS Department of Physician Assistant Studies is to educate future Physician Assistants to provide ethical, quality, and compassionate healthcare as part of an interprofessional team.
At the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, learning comes alive during our clinical experiences. The Office of Clinical and Experiential Education (OCEE) oversees the clinical and experiential education components of the academic programs. Under the guidance of highly skilled practitioners, students learn how to care for real patients in the professional environment throughout Kentucky and beyond.
The Office of Research aims to develop basic and clinical science research to reach the goal of establishing a university-wide translational research program. Our research program focuses on pharmaceutics, biotechnology, pharmacology, toxicology, microbiology, immunology, clinical, and outcomes research in various education and pharmacy practices.
