Pharmacy Practice

The mission of the SU COPHS Department of Pharmacy Practice is to elevate pharmacy practice through fostering student learning and growth in the clinical sciences, researching and publishing advancements in teaching and clinical practice, advocacy through professional pharmacy organizations, and mentorship to encourage practice advancement.

Pharmaceutical Sciences

The pharmaceutical sciences are a group of interdisciplinary areas of study involved with the design, action, delivery, disposition, and use of drugs. These areas of expertise draw on many areas of basic and applied science such as chemistry, biology, mathematics, physics, and engineering. Students learn the common language of pharmaceutical sciences, helping them to better evaluate clinical literature and ensuring a thorough foundation of practical pharmacy.

The Office of Clinical and Experiential Education (OCEE) oversees the clinical and experiential education components of the academic programs. The Office of Research aims to develop basic and clinical science research to reach the goal of establishing a university-wide translational research program. Our research program focuses on pharmaceutics, biotechnology, pharmacology, toxicology, microbiology, immunology, clinical, and outcomes research in various education and pharmacy practices.
