COLLEGE OF PHARMACY WELCOMES NEW ASSISTANT DEAN

Sullivan University College of Pharmacy has announced that Dr. Arthur Cox has been selected as the Assistant Dean and Chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Dr. Cox brings extensive experience as a university instructor, researcher, professor and administrator to his new role at Sullivan University. He holds a Bachelor of Biological Sciences with a minor in Chemistry from Southern Illinois University (1988) and a Doctor of Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy (1999). A prolific writer, Dr. Cox has been widely published and has presented research papers both in the U.S. and internationally.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have Dr. Cox bring his outstanding leadership skills and experience to the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences,” says Dr. Cindy Stowe, Dean of the Sullivan University College of Pharmacy. “Dr. Cox is passionate and committed to educating and training the next generation of pharmacists and I truly believe he is going to help transform the College of Pharmacy.”

Dr. Cox said he is honored to join the College of Pharmacy.

“Sullivan is a student-centered teaching institution,” he says. “It has a class size that is small enough to allow personal interaction with faculty, and both a faculty and an administrative team dedicated to producing successful pharmacists that advance the profession.

Dr. Cox says he is looking forward to working with both the Departments of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Clinical and Administrative Sciences, adding, “I hope to facilitate the continued building of the team and doing everything I can to help foster the success of Pharmaceutical Sciences Department faculty in accomplishing their personal goals and producing accomplished pharmacy graduates.”
