LOUISVILLE – Sullivan University College of Pharmacy student Kerry Hettinger has been awarded a grant from EPIC Pharmacies Inc., a national network of more than 1,400 independently owned pharmacies.

Grants were awarded to 16 pharmacy students who plan to practice in an independent pharmacy upon graduation. Hettinger, of Springhurst in east Louisville, is a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Louisville. She is scheduled to graduate from the Sullivan University College of Pharmacy in 2017.

“I’m thrilled that EPIC Pharmacies can once again support future independent pharmacists,” said EPIC Pharmacies Chief Executive Officer Jay Romero, R.Ph. “These students will carry on the traditions of quality care and personal service representative of independent pharmacy that are practiced in each EPIC Pharmacies co-op location.”

At Sullivan University College of Pharmacy we pride ourselves on educating excellent community-based practitioners with a focus on entrepreneurship, said Sullivan University College of Pharmacy Dean Dr. Cindy Stowe. Kerry is an excellent fit for this honor and is well deserving. I am proud of what Kerry has accomplished and look forward to following her career once she graduates.
