SULLIVAN DEAN IS GUEST EDITOR OF PEER REVIEWED JOURNAL
Dr. Anthony Piña, dean of Online Studies at Sullivan University Online, was invited to serve as guest editor of a special issue of the Quarterly Review of Distance Education, a peer-reviewed scholarly journal. “It was a great honor to be asked. I am only the fourth guest editor in the Journal’s 14-year history and the first from a private-sector university.” As guest editor, Dr. Piña was given control over the call for manuscripts, the peer review process, and the final editing of the accepted articles. “The quality of the peer review can make or break a journal. I am fortunate to have a network of wonderful colleagues from universities around the country who performed blind reviews of the articles in a very short period of time.” In November, Dr. Piña begins a three-year term as president of the Division of Distance Learning of the Association for Educational Communications & Technology (AECT). He is currently working on his third book about online education.
