Dr. Lisa Tipton

Dr. Lisa Tipton has been a Registered Nurse since 2000. She graduated with her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Indiana Wesleyan University in December of 2019. Her DNP project focused on how nurses can help breast cancer survivors monitor for side effects of treatment before complications occur. Dr. Tipton started her career with an associate’s degree in nursing through Jefferson Community College. She worked her way up the educational ladder to a terminal degree in nursing practice. She also has a master’s degree in adult education, which allows her to implement various educational theories in her classroom. As a staff nurse, she has experience in neurosurgery, orthopedics, and most recently pediatrics. Dr. Tipton has been with the University for 11 years She is a designated curriculum specialist and has taught various courses in the nursing program.
