Biography:

Kelly Joy is a 1998 graduate of Murray State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Biology. She received her Master of Science in Zoology from North Dakota State University in 2001 and her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Kentucky in 2009. Kelly has a professional research background in conservation genetics, electron microscopy, traumatic spinal cord and brain injury, and Alzheimer’s disease. As a Physician Assistant she has 2 years of experience in Orthopedics, 6+ years of experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and 2+ years of experience in Gynecologic Oncology. She started at Sullivan as a guest lecturer in 2016 and became a full-time didactic faculty member in 2017. Kelly is a board member of the Kentucky Academy of Physician Assistants (KAPA), a member and university representative to the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA), and a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). Her favorite aspect of PA education is working hands-on with students to increase their medical knowledge and practical skills.
