BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Lourdes Cross received her PharmD degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy and completed two years of post-graduate training at the University of Louisville (UofL) Hospital, specializing in Ambulatory Care. She currently provides clinical services at the UofL Adult Internal Medicine and Endocrinology Clinics. She is also the faculty advisor for the American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists Operation Heart and Diabetes program at Sullivan University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (SUCOPHS).
One of her greatest passions is educating patients, community members, and health care providers on health, wellness, and evidence-based medicine. Her research has been accepted for oral and poster presentations at state, regional, and national meetings, including the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP), Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists (ADCES), Tri-State Association of Diabetes Educators (TRADE), Kentucky Diabetes Symposium (KDN), and Kentucky Pharmacists Association (KPhA) annual meetings. Dr. Cross was recognized as the SUCOPHS Physician Assistant Program Guest Lecturer of the Year in 2020, SUCOPHS Pharmacy Teacher of the Year in 2019, and Pharmacy Times Next-Generation Pharmacist Rising Star Award Finalist in 2017. In addition, she currently serves as the 2019 ADCES Pharmacy Community of Interest Leader-Elect and Blog Coordinator.
