Congratulations!!! It’s your senior year! There are still so many challenges and unknowns right now in our country; however, we know that nothing will stop this amazing bunch of students! To help you get things started on your Sullivan journey, we are offering you the opportunity to participate in our virtual hospitality Throw Down competition.

Announcing the Fall 2020 Throw Down Tournament
- Registration Opens on September 1, 2020
- Project Submission Deadline is December 4, 2020
- Awards & Winners Celebration: December 18, 2020
Tournament Details & Basis for Selection
- Register and upload project by December 4th, 2020. All project components must be prepared and presented individually while following all social distancing recommendations advised by the CDC!
- Basis for Selection: High school seniors, CLASS OF 2021 have the opportunity to win one Sullivan University competition grant.
- Deadline: Registration and projects due December 4th, 2020
Tournament Project Requirements & Categories
Culinary and Baking & Pastry Projects
Applicants will prepare a dish, provide photographs of step-by-step documentation, written recipe, ingredient list, and cost calculation, food cost percentage and menu cost. They will also submit a digital form of the project including a 3-5 minute oral presentation about the project via video.
Hotel and Restaurant Management, Event Management and Tourism
Applicants will prepare and present a Hospitality based business project. The project should include but is not limited to a 3-5 minute oral presentation about the project via video and/or PowerPoint.
Scholarship Details
- Term: Paid equally over 6 quarters for full-time enrollment or equally up to 12 quarters for part-time enrollment
- Eligibility: Only one Competition Grant Scholarship may be used per enrolled student. Sullivan University will recognize the highest awarded Competition Grant Scholarship and apply it towards a student's cost of attendance. A student must use their scholarship to pursue a major that is related to their event that the scholarship was awarded for. Scholarship Grants can only be applied to students pursuing their degree at Sullivan University in the Summer or Fall following their high school graduation.
- Number of Students: Open number of grant recipients annually
- Amounts: The amount of the grants will be determined by the Director of Admissions. Awards start at $4,000.
