The mission of the SU COPHS Department of Physician Assistant Studies is to educate future Physician Assistants to provide ethical, quality, and compassionate healthcare as part of an interprofessional team.
Faculty
The Department of Physician Assistant Studies has a group of dedicated and hard-working faculty members who are passionate about their profession and teaching. Our faculty operate on a philosophy of student-centeredness, delivering quality and organized education while keeping the student experience at the forefront of all we do.
Teaching and Clinical Experience
Faculty at SUCOPHS are teaching-focused. While faculty within the college engage in an array of clinical activities and service to our profession, ensuring educational excellence and student success are top priorities. The Department of PA Studies is responsible for didactic and clinical (in conjunction with the Office of Clinical and Experiential Education) coursework in the PA Program.
Our PA faculty practice clinically, providing expertise in numerous clinical specialties including emergency medicine, pediatrics, orthopedics, dermatology, critical care, endocrinology, surgery, neurology, and more.
We also have a variety of devoted and experienced guest lecturers who provide students education in specialized areas of medicine such as ophthalmology, hematology/oncology, otolaryngology, and psychology.
Service and Scholarship
Our service to the PA profession extends well beyond Sullivan University. Department faculty are leaders in national, regional, and local efforts in advancing PA education and practice.
