Biography
Dr. Hudson received her Associates degree in Arts and Sciences with a focus in Chemistry in 1995 from Niagara County Community College in Sanborn, NY before going on to complete her Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy at the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Buffalo, NY in 1998. She continued her studies while practicing community and long-term care pharmacy over the next 13 years and received multiple certifications for advanced practice including Naloxone dispensing and administration, Medication Therapy Management, Immunization, Asthma Care, Diabetes Care, Geriatric Care, and Herbal/Nutrition Pharmacy. In 2011, Dr. Hudson went on to pursue a Certificate in Health Profession Education and a Master’s degree in Humanities with a concentration in Linguistics, and from the University of Louisville’s, College of Education and Human Development and Department of Comparative Humanities in Louisville, KY, which she completed in 2014 and 2015, respectively. She then received her Doctorate in Pharmacy in 2018 after completing the University of Florida, College of Pharmacy’s Working Professional Pharmacy Doctorate Program.
Dr. Hudson is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) and Licensed Diabetes Educator (LDE) practicing in the Pharmacy Department of Family Health Center since 2013 where she is actively involved in education of Pharmacy IPPE, LEEP, APPE students, and Residents through her work with Sullivan University College of Pharmacy and Health Science (SU COPHS) and the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy (UK COP). She is also actively involved with the University of Kentucky's Area Health Education Program (UK AHEC) where she assists in and research the training students of all health professions through an ongoing Passport to Care Inter-professional Education Program offered at Family Health Center's eight facilities. Dr. Hudson has also worked with the Accreditation Council of Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a Field Reviewer since 2019 and has participated on the Family Health Centers Health Literacy Committee since 2015.
Dr. Hudson is an active member and advocate for pharmacy practice advancement and patient care initiatives with the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), the Kentucky Pharmacists (KPhA), the Jefferson County Academy of Pharmacists (JCAP), American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE), the Tri-State Association of Diabetes Educators (TRADE), the Kentucky Diabetes Educators (KDE) Association, and the Greater Louisville Association of Diabetes Educators (GLADE).
Honors and Recognitions
Dr. Hudson is a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society and Golden Key Honor Societies. She has been recognized as an honored member of the Who’s Who Female Business Professionals in 2000 and the Lexington Who’s Who Registry of the Office of Executives and Professionals in 2001/2002. Dr Hudson has also been honored as Sullivan University College of Pharmacy Community Preceptor of the Year in 2016, and as one of American Health Council's "100 Best in Medicine" in 2018.
