Student Experience

The Black Student Union, or BSU, is an organization designed specifically to support African American students on campus and in the community. The purpose of the BSU is to serve the University’s African American students by recognizing the unique collegiate journeys they experience. The BSU acknowledges the need for unity among African American students and is open to all students who wish to promote political, social, cultural, and academic health as it pertains to the African American community.

The Sexuality and Gender Alliance, SAGA, is a club dedicated to the support of students who identify themselves as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. SAGA seeks to provide students with the opportunities to overcome daily challenges, have a strong voice among peers, and unite under the common goal of ensuring that everyone on campus is safe and welcome regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. SAGA plans events for its members, participates in community outreach initiatives, and raises awareness about the struggles faced by the LGBTQ+ community.

CRU is an interdenominational Christian campus ministry that allows students of a similar religious background to come together in community and study the Bible. CRU meetings consist of studying and asking questions about the Bible, sharing the highs and lows of the week, and students providing support to each other during their everyday college life. CRU meets every Monday night at Gardiner Point Residence Hall.
